fuelOS is designed with privacy at its core. We collect minimal data necessary to provide you with nutrition tracking services:

Account Information: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID for authentication purposes only.
Meal Data: Photos, voice recordings, and text descriptions of your meals are processed to analyze nutrition information.
Apple Health Data: If you enable Health integration, we read and write calorie and macronutrient data to your local Health app. See our AI & Data Use policy for details.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for:

Analyzing meal nutrition using AI (Google Gemini API)
Transcribing voice inputs using speech recognition (Deepgram API)
Syncing nutrition data to Apple Health (if enabled)
Displaying your meal history and nutrition trends

3. Data Storage

Local Storage: Your meal history is stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
iCloud Sync: If enabled, your data is encrypted and stored in your private iCloud container, accessible only by you.
No Server Storage: We do not maintain separate databases of your personal meal data on our servers.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide app functionality:

Google Gemini: For AI-powered nutrition analysis. Images and text are sent to Google's API for processing. See AI & Data Use for details.
Deepgram: For voice-to-text transcription. Audio recordings are temporarily sent for transcription and not stored.
Apple Sign In: For secure authentication.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data is shared only as necessary to provide app functionality:

Meal images/text sent to Google Gemini API for nutrition analysis
Voice recordings sent to Deepgram API for transcription
Health data synced to your local Apple Health app (if enabled)

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: View all your data within the app
Delete: Delete individual meals or your entire account from Settings
Control: Disable Health sync, iCloud sync, or delete your account at any time

7. Children's Privacy

fuelOS is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
